Not a great day for Lainie Kazan, the actress who played the mom on My Big Fat Greek Wedding…
On Sunday afternoon, Kazan was arrested at a Gelson's supermarket in the San Fernando Valley area of El Lay because she allegedly walked out of the store with more than $180 in unpaid groceries.
The actress was arrested for petty theft at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday after store employees confronted her in the parking lot about stealing the food. Apparently, Kazan had put her food into several reusable bags and tried to walk out to her car as though she had already paid.
Cops were called and they came and took her down to the police station. She was cited and released without bail.
No word from her reps or anything else, according to TMZ.
What a weird story. Especially from a woman who has been acting for decades.
