Jennifer Lawrence Does NOT Regret Dropping Out Of Middle School: ‘I Am Self-Educated’!

Jennifer Lawrence is a PROUD middle school dropout.

For a sit down with 60 Minutes, the Hunger Games alum opened up about her decision to leave school at 14 to pursue a career as an actress. Well, well.

In a sneak peek for her chat with Bill Whitaker, J.Law admitted:

"I dropped out of middle school. I don't technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated."

The more you know. When asked if she looks back at that decision as a poor one, the blonde starlet replied:

"No. I really don't. I wanted to forge my own path. I found what I wanted to do, and I didn't want anything getting in the way of it. Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career. I mean, from the age of 14."

Snap! Snap!

Although, we can't say we're surprised that Jennifer doesn't have any regrets. For starters, she's already had an impressive career at the age of 27. We mean, she's an Oscar winner, for Pete's sake. Not to mention, the Red Sparrow actress never really flourished in an academic setting.

She confessed:

"I struggled through school. I never felt very smart. And when I'm reading the script and I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way, that was the whole part of my brain that I didn't even know existed—something that I could be confident in and I didn't want to let it go."

Makes sense. Understandably, at the time, Lawrence's parents didn't love the idea of their daughter dropping out. Still, even as a teenager, Jennifer had "an overwhelming feeling" that this was something she was "meant to do."

And while her dreams have come true, the A-lister has faced a few nightmares along the way. Case in point, the 2014 hack she experienced when her nudes were leaked onto the internet. In fact, that experience almost deterred her from accepting the lead role in Red Sparrow (as it required nudity):

"I realized that there was a difference between consent and not, and I showed up for the first day and I did it and I felt empowered. I feel like something that was taken from me I got back and am using in my art."
