The world of online dating is treacherous. Variety might be the spice of life, but sometimes having too many people to chose from can be a bad thing. With so many options at your fingertips, it can be easy to become very superficial and endlessly scroll for your perfect beau.
However, not all online dating profiles are created equally and each website has a few stand-out members who are inundated with requests for dates. One of these websites is the controversial Beautiful People, which, as the name suggests, only allows “beautiful people” to join.

Becuase only one-in-ten people who request to join Beautiful People are accepted onto the site, it is considered “elite”.
One of the many people has been enticed by the prospect of finding a beau who is better looking than most is mom-of-three Tanya Jaksha, who boasts not only remarkable good looks for her age, but a shockingly youthful appearance.
She decided to apply to join Beautiful People out of curiosity and has now been treated some seriously impressive dates, which have included being given a man’s credit card to go on a shopping spree with and being whisked across state in a limo.
Shortly after joining the website in 2011, Tanya was engaged, but after the relationship fell apart, she returned on the hunt for Mr. Right.
“I really didn’t have any expectations,” the mom-of-three said of the elite website.
“When I was accepted, I was flattered. I don’t think people on the site are necessarily conventionally attractive.”
“It’s a lot more like modeling. If you have a strong look, whatever it is, people on the site find you intriguing and vote ‘yes’,” she revealed.
“Beauty is more than just what’s on the outside.”
Describing the website in one word, Tanya dubbed it “entertaining” and said that she enjoys talking to men from all over the world.
“You never know who will want to connect with you from day to day,” she said. “They could be next door or on the other side of the world. I love that.
“It can be overwhelming trying to respond to everyone. It’s a really active site.
“I have had a lot of adventures,” Tanya said of her online dating experience. “One guy sent me a limo from another state, put me up in a hotel suite, took me to his company Christmas party, gave me a blank cheque to buy Christmas presents for all the women in his office, and something for myself of course. It was so fun.
“But a great date for me can just be talking over a couple of drinks. Interesting conversation is my favorite thing and intelligence is a must.
“Fortunately, I’ve found that even though the site is based on looks, everyone I have met has been smart and successful as well.”
Aging is something which Tanya has admittedly worried about her whole life and this has caused her to adopt a stringent routine to fight its effects. Sadly, she’s not revealed exactly what this involves, although admits that getting a good night’s sleep is a part of it.
Still, it’s kept the 50-year-old looking not a day over 30!
“I do often get compliments on how I look day to day, and the older I get the more I appreciate it,” she said. “I put a lot of work into fighting aging and I know I don’t look like I did 20 years ago so every compliment is like a little victory.”
“I realize most people are OK with aging gracefully, but I have always been interested in beauty and there are so many things available to us now to hold off the visible sings for as long as possible. It’s fascinating to me. It’s like a sport.”
Tanya has one of the most popular profiles for a woman over 50 on the website and claims to be asked out on more than 100 dates a month – with many of the requests coming from much younger men.
However, when it comes to finding her ideal man, Tanya said that she’s looking for someone who is a “confident alpha male” as well as “smart, funny, and a little offbeat.”
“Being older I’m attracted to men who are gentlemen,” she said. “Opening doors, sending flowers, actually calling instead of texting. I love those little gestures.”
