Kim Kardashian can't seem to stay out of trouble!
On Sunday, the KUWTK star posted a video on Snapchat where she dons braids she says are inspired by actress Bo Derek from the 1979 film 10.

In the clip, Kanye West's wife exclaims:
"So guys I got Bo Derek braids, and I'm really into it."

Almost immediately, several social media users accused the mother-of-three of "cultural appropriation" for wearing a traditionally black hairstyle, and for giving credit to a white woman.
Kardashian's look resembles Fulani-style braids — inspired by the Fulani women of East and West Africa — and have been around since ancient times, long before Bo Derek's movie.
According to cosmetologist and author Toni Love in an interview with Ebony last year:
"History tells us cornrows originated in Africa. The intricate braiding of the hair indicated the tribe you belonged to… Cornrows on women date back to at least 3000 B.C. and as far back as the nineteenth century for men, particularly in Ethiopia. Warriors and kings were identified by their braided hairstyles."
Pissed-off Twitter users wrote:

Sadly, this isn't the first time Kim has been dragged for cultural insensitivity. As we reported in June 2017, in a promotional photo for KKW Beauty, fans accused her of doing "blackface" for seemingly darkening her skin.
Oh, and around five years ago, she posted yet another snap of herself with "Bo Derek braids."
